The Vegetarian Diet Meal Plan That Will Help You Lose Weight

Posted: under Uncategorized.

A meat eater might view a vegetarian diet as being boring, but a vegetarian diet can be the complete opposite. In order to accomplish an appealing vegetarian diet, it is important to have a good vegetarian diet meal plan.

Since animal protein is non existent in a vegetarian’s diet, some important ingredients get more attention than they usually do in other diets. Plant foods, and grains take on the role of main courses.

The Vegetarian Diet Meal Plan

1. Use A wide variety of plant protein sources at each meal, such as legumes, grain products, nuts and seeds, and vegetables. Use small portions of nuts and seeds in dishes.

2. Use a wide variety of vegetables. Steaming, stir frying, or microwaving vegetables retains flavor, nutrients, and color.

3. Choose low fat and fat free varieties of milk and milk products, and limit the use of eggs. This is crucial to prevent a high intake of saturated fat, which is found in whole milk, low fat milk, regular cheeses, eggs, and other foods.

4. Consume more dishes made with soybean-based products like tofu and tempeh. Soybeans are unique because they contain the only plant protein that is nutritionally equal to animal protein.

5. Consume foods that contain nutrients of special importance to vegetarians. Foods with good sources of vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, and Linolenic Acid.

This is a low fat diet plan that will help you lose weight while still getting enough protein each day. Like any other diet plan you have to stay committed to it and you will begin to lose the weight you desire.

Medical Leg Wear

Posted: under Uncategorized.

socksPeople who have varicose veins, lymphedema, DVT, or PTS often need to use medical leg wear. In all the above conditions, blood or other body fluids tend to accumulate at specific points in the body. This leads to swollen veins. Medical compression stockings work by compressing the affected area and adjusting the flow of body fluids.

Varicose veins

When veins become varicose, they tend to become distended because they cannot properly send blood back to the heart. This is due to the malfunctioning of the valves that usually prevent blood from flowing backwards into the veins. The extra blood causes the veins to swell. Compression stockings are designed to apply pressure at the ankle and calves of the patients to make the blood flow to the heart. The pressure is highest at the ankle and reduces steadily towards the upper part of the calf. The same principle is used for treating lymphedema. Stockings reduce the amount of fluid that seeps out of the capillaries by applying pressure on the tissues.

Thrombosis

The pressure on the tissues also forces the blood to flow into the capillaries that go into the deeper tissues of the leg. Apart from enhancing blood circulation, this is useful in treating different kinds of blood clots. In Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), a clot develops in the veins due to the patient’s prolonged exposure to low humidity environment. Since this is often a result of travelling in planes where the required level of humidity is not maintained, it is sometimes called economy class syndrome. Many patients who have an attack of DVT also contract Post Thrombosis Syndrome. As this can be avoided if compression stocking are worn, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy suggests patients with DVT to carry on using compression stockings. Patients who are confined to their beds for long periods require medical leg wear to prevent the formation of floating blood clots. These stockings are known as antiembolism stockings.

Sometimes pregnant women also need medical leg wear when blood collects at their knees and causes swelling. This happens because pregnant women produce more blood for the foetus to get enough oxygen and nutrients.

Many of the stockings and socks used for medical purposes can be ordered through the internet or bought at medical stores. The stockings that are designed to apply higher compression can be brought only on production of a physician’s prescription.

Finding Burek in The Junction

Solero Mediterranean Bakery on Dundas West in the Junction has all its baked-good bases covered. But above all else, they”re pushing the burek.

Get all the flaky goodness in my review of Solero in the bakery section.
